It's time to be my best. I could have been much more already but "whatever happened happened, and it couldn't have happened any other way."
As I changed the oil today I realized I have a Jiffy Lube within 4-5 minutes of my new home, I walked into a gymn that is right next to it. I just wanted to look around the facilities (and admitedly the guys :-P ), just checking out the place... and after signing a form that is a "liability relese form even if you are just touring around" which is more like "now we've know where you live, you can't escape us" form, I actually swallowed the speech and decided to do a trial- join.
I have been eyeing buying a home gymn again (another Bowflex most likely) but figuring out that it will take me one to two weeks to find a volunteer with a nice pickup truck to get the big-ass box they have at Costco, I decided I can't wait and must do something for my body, TODAY, NOW.
I have seen my health deteriorate quickly over the last years. I have diabetes now (although controlled) and sleep apnea- both which would virtually dissappear if I reach even 10 pounds within my ideal weight. I can't even remember what is sleeping without a CPAP mask now.
So I ended up paying $270.00 or such.. that includes also a two-hour, two time training private training session. The goog thing is I can cancel anytime the whole thing, as it is month by month, and each regular month is $40. If decide this is for me I can go and pay a full year and get 2 years "free." I say "free" because we all know they are making cash out of you anyway.
I decided I just can't wait. Really, I must do something and the good thing is that the gymn is *exactly* just before I go to the highway on my way to /from work, and within 4 minutes of where I live, so hopefully that would be as unobtrusive as it gets in my routine. I could just go there, workout then go to work. It's open 24 hours/7, so no excuses... .I may still go Bowflex, but I gotta try this out.
I leave this post with a photo of the view I have from my new kitchen. The lower end of the photo is just a counter on a shelf that protrudes outside the exterior wall surrounded by glass, it's not a lake or anything like that :-)

Good for you. The first step I took in getting back into shape was sliding my workouts into my life in a way that wasn't obtrusive. Now I go out of my way to work out because I'm so used to it and feel so much better than I do. Good luck on this. Diabetes is a beast that can be killed if you care enough. If you don't....well, I can send you pictures of my aunt after she lost both her feet.
