Well I was pretty confident Nintendo would be the one of the three to come up with a new way to interface with the console, but man, I am sure that this is way far far far from what everyone was talking about. No dynamic LCD screen on the controller or such. Check it out at gamespot.
At first (and perhaps still) I was having a hard time imagining how this techno-ipod-look a like remote controller would improve gameplay or how comfortable it can be.. but after reading the demos and thinking more about it some ideas started to emerge. I think this may make playing something like Metroid on the consoles a dream. And I can also imagine perhaps some RTS or Turn Based games will be easier to play. In fact, it's like a virtual 3d stylus of sorts, thinking here on the DS.
What is your take? Make sure you read the demos before saying it sucks.. I see potential.
well my take is that this, if done well, my very well revolutionize (please excuse the pun) the way we view video gaming. nintendo has had a long line of innovations that have changed the way we play games. i'll be the first to admit that some were collosal failures (virtual boy, powerglove . . .etc.) but some are now mainstays (crosspad, wireless, rumble, analogue . . .etc.) so lets just wait and see if nintendo holds up it's end and then pass judgement. ;)
